What matters when comparing auto-darkening welding helmets
Look at optical clarity, shade range, sensitivity/delay controls, viewing area, headgear comfort, grind mode and replacement lens availability. A huge viewing area is less useful if the helmet is uncomfortable enough that you avoid wearing it.
If you TIG at low current, make sure the helmet’s sensors and stated operating range are appropriate for that work.
Check the cost and availability of outside/inside cover lenses before buying a premium helmet.
