How to use it

Keep the units consistent: if price is per foot, quantity must be feet. If price is per sheet, quantity must be sheets. Add a realistic waste allowance for drops, defects and setup loss.

Material total = Quantity × Unit cost × (1 + waste%) × (1 + tax/fees%)

Worked example

Forty feet at $3.25/ft with 10% waste starts from $130 and becomes $143 before any entered tax/fees.

Common mistakes

Mixing per-stick pricing with per-foot quantity, forgetting freight/cut charges, and treating material markup as the same thing as waste.
