What the estimate includes

Perimeter frame, interior crossmembers and four legs. It intentionally does not assume a lower shelf, diagonal bracing or a specific tabletop thickness.

Build sequence

  1. Cut and deburr frame members.
  2. Lay out on the flattest reference available.
  3. Tack corners and check diagonals.
  4. Add crossmembers while controlling heat.
  5. Fit legs, braces, casters/feet and accessories.
  6. Recheck flatness and square before final welding.

Shop accessories that actually help

Strong clamps, true 90° squares/magnets, locking casters, leveling feet and a magnetic power strip are directly useful on a fabrication table.

Frequently asked questions

Does this size the tubing or tabletop plate?

No. It estimates layout quantities. Member sizing depends on load, span, table use and design.

Should I use casters or leveling feet?

Casters improve mobility; leveling feet improve stability. Many shop tables use both through retractable or separate systems.

How do I keep the table square?

Build on a flat reference, measure diagonals, tack symmetrically and control heat before final welding.
